DIRECTIONS & STORAGE
The Iron Formula is designed to improve iron stores. The liposomal form of our iron supplements prevents stomach upset, nausea and constipation that’s usually connected to conventional iron supplementation. This is because the iron is enclosed in the liposome bubble, preventing the interaction with the stomach and intestines.
Iron is an important mineral which has many functions in the body, most notably creating and maintaining numbers of red blood cells, which transport oxygen around the body. Issues with iron can be common in coeliac disease. It is estimated a quarter of adults are anaemic due to iron deficiency anaemia upon diagnosis of coeliac disease.
Iron deficiency occurs when the body’s iron stores are low. Iron deficiency is common in people with undiagnosed and untreated coeliac disease. This is mainly because the area of the gut where iron is absorbed can be damaged and iron from foods may therefore not be absorbed very well. In addition, it can take from months to years for the small intestine to heal despite being on a gluten free diet, meaning that problems with iron absorption may not resolve instantly. For a minority of people with coeliac disease, issues with iron absorption can also persist even once the gut has healed.
